Incorporating a little "vintage" into your Spring Themed Color Extravaganza wedding, can add a 'calming effect' on your guests instead of giving them a 'bright' headache. Throughout your planning, start visiting little antique shops, garage sales, consignment stores, TJ Maxx, Home Goods, etc...and look for hidden treasures such as colored glass vases for your centerpieces (always check out the sale shelves). The key to incorporating a lot of color into your wedding, and doing it tastefully, is to be consistent. For instance, if you have a ton of different colored vases- keep a theme, such as vintage glass vases, perhaps made from the same era (if you have that kind of 'planning' time on your hands!

Eclectic Palette anyone? I can't tell you how many of my brides tell their maids just to choose a black dress and wear it walking down the aisle. Instead of black, which can clash with other blacks, choose vibrant colors and patterns that you know your maids will wear again and again while make them feel happy doing so! They'll also remember how amazing your wedding was each time they put their dress on.
One of the Best things about Spring? COLOR is everywhere! And, it is the best time of year to incorporate brightness and brilliancy into your wedding theme and get your guests feeling like they are stepping out of the past years drab winter, into the much anticipated warmth! I love the idea of customized "Save the Date" seed packets to give to your future guests, to create their own start to a summer garden. The vintage packets can be found on Etsy in many different styles/patterns. Then simply choose cardstock that matches your wedding colors and print your Save the Date information at the top- cut them larger than your seed packets, cut 1/2" slits on the corners and insert packet. You could also personlize these to give as Favors!
Although I am a total fan of Fresh Flowers adorning a cake, I think I am bias to the Sugar Paste Flowers. They are more impressive and sometimes, more beautiful. I appreciate the time (hours) it takes to make these magnificent art sculptures, but once you see your finished product every second is worth it. Simple, but they make a BIG impact on your guests.
Happy Wedding Season!
